MOSCOW, Russia - Svetlana Kuznetsova, one of four Russians ever to crack the world's Top 2 on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, has hired the services of ex-player and world-renowned coach Olga Morozova.

Kuznetsova, who first rose to No.2 after reaching her third Grand Slam final at the US Open last September and is currently ranked No.7 in the world, had been working with Stefan Ortega from the Sánchez-Casal Academy in Spain until now.

"I would very much like to thank the Sánchez-Casal Academy for all the help and guidance they have given to me over the years," Kuznetsova said. "They have been inspirational to me during my time there and I owe a lot to them. They also have been very exceptionally supportive over the years, on and off the court. I would especially like to thank Emilio Sánchez for his belief in me and making me into the player I am today, and also my long time coach Stefan Ortega.

"I have gotten to a stage in my life where I would like to return to my family and continue developing my career. It's a bizarre situation and feeling for me to be working with another coach, as I have only been with the academy since I went pro. But I feel and hope this will be a successful decision for me moving forward."

Kuznetsova has spent much of the last several years inside the Top 10, having posted some stellar results, including winning the US Open in 2004 and notching runner-up finishes at the 2006 French Open and 2007 US Open (falling to Justine Henin in both finals). She has been as high as No.3 in the world in doubles as well, winning the 2005 Australian Open (with Alicia Molik) and finishing runner-up at another five Grand Slam tournaments in the team discipline.

Morozova was a professional player herself, her most notable career results being runner-up finishes at the French Open and Wimbledon in 1974 (falling to Chris Evert in both finals). Her post-playing coaching resumé includes stints with the LTA and Russian Federation. Her very accomplished coaching career also includes a couple of years with another of Russia's stars, Elena Dementieva.

Tiens, dans le tournoi junior, il semblerait bien que le tombeur de Gianni Mina, Andrey Kuznetsov est le petit frere de Svetlana.
